I agree, the guy should be punished severely. We'll have to see what happens. If he is, maybe it will serve as a warning to other wanna be vigilantes/lesson teachers out there.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/06/03/driver-hits-pack-of-bicyc_n_104852.html?view=screen

I had seen that picture of those cyclists getting hit in Mexico before but had not read the details. The link above gives the particulars if you had not read them.
The road rage incident on Mandeville Canyon Rd. was the act of a madman not just a "normal" person acting out. He deserves to go away for what he did

And no I am no god on a bike ( more like no good )

See you on the road

There aren't a lot of organized rides, but Newhall Bicycle company has road and mountain rides every week. Actually 2 road (Monday 5:30 and Saturday 7:30am) and 2 mountain rides (Wed. 5:30pm and often Saturday at 7:30). There are a lot of cool people of all different abilities, so it's pretty fun.

I was riding last season in a group ride, the guy next to me swerved into my front wheel. His deraileur hit one of the spokes on the R-sys wheel. When it exploded, with the weight differential, the entire wheel collapsed. I was sent face first into the concrete. Cracked my zygomatic arch and was left with a grade III concussion even with a helmet. I took the wheel back to a Mavic dealer and was given a pair of premiums to compensate. Yeah, too bad they didn't reimburse me for the medical bills and the ambulance ride to the hospital.

I love it. The only issue that I have with it is a cable rattle that I cannot find. It is only audible when the road is bumpy, which is often around here, and try as I may I cannot find it. Otherwise it is a great bike. That Verde looks very nice as well, with the only real difference being the integrated mast and paint scheme. I don't see how you could go wrong.

Beautiful! How do you like it after owning it for a while? I'm considering a Verde. Thanks!

Mavic has a lot of good products, the Open Pro rim being one of them, however this wheelset is a different story. If it were one isolated incident, that's one thing. The fact that there are many is something else entirely. Glad to hear you're relatively okay.

I've crashed on the track literally completing almost a full somersault, landing square on the back wheel. The single burst and the aluminium rim broke into 4 pieces yet all 32 spokes were in 1 piece and all 32 were still attached at both the hub and rim. The tyre was also still glued to 3 of the 4 sections of rim.

Back to R-Sys... how hitting a bump mid-corner and shattering every single spoke can be deemed acceptable is a complete mystery.
